J's Dairy Inn Employment Appplication
You must scroll to the bottom of this page & click "Continue" to begin the application
process.
Evenings, Holidays and Weekends are an important part of our business.
You must be willing to work when we are the busiest.
Should you be hired it is understood that your employment is contingent upon your following the guidelines
as set forth on this page and in the employees manual. Your job performance will be reviewed periodically, and
the employment arrangement can be terminated by either party at any time.
Your signature on this application and the offer of a job constitutes an agreement to voluntarily provide samples
necessary to conduct a substance test as allowed by law.
J's is proud to be a drug-free work environment. Screening tests for alcohol and illegal drug use may
be required before hiring and during your employment.
As a customer of J's you expect high quality food and friendly service in a clean, healthy atmosphere.
As an employee, you will be expected to do more than your share to make this true for our other customers.
You will not be asked to do any job that the owner and managers would not do themselves. This will include
preparing food, serving food, handling money, emptying trash, cleaning rest rooms, smiling, mopping floors,
and numerous other "odd" jobs. These are not all glamour jobs, but they all have to be done to make J's a
pleasant place to visit, so our customers will return. You will find that a positive attitude toward constructive
criticism and a cooperative attitude toward managers and fellow employees will serve you well.
J's requires that you be 16 years of age to apply for regular employment starting at the current minimum wage of $7.25. Those children 14 and 15 may apply for a position as Dining Room Orderly and will be compensated at the current training wage of $4.25 during the first 90 days of employment. All employees under the age of 18 are subject to Child Labor Laws that govern the hours you can work. We hope you will help us be aware of things affecting your employment, such as a mandatory 30 minute unpaid break for over 6 hours work in a continuous shift, and other regulations covering children.
Should you be hired, you will be required to obtain a work permit if you are under 18 years of age.
You will also have to provide two items of proof of citizenship for Federal Form I-9, and sign a sexual
harassment awareness form.
Outside activities are an important part of your life, and every effort will be made to arrange your work
schedule to allow you to participate in those you enjoy. On the other hand, when you take this job,
you make a commitment to be available when you are needed. Things you are sure you will want off for
(Band, sports teams, cheerleading, long summer vacation, visits to a second parent, holiday vacations)
should be stated on application.
J's is covered by the Federal Minimum Wage Law. Currently this is $7.25. The "first job" training wage or
your work experience could influence your starting wage.
J's offers a vacation plan for full time employees after one year of service. It ranges from .8hr to 1.4hr
vacation pay for each 40 hours worked. We do not offer a health benefit plan.
Feel free to list any comments that might influence us to hire you.
When you have completed your application, and determined that you are serious about going to work (as opposed to satisfying your parents wishes, or fulfilling Workforce Development requirements) call J's Office at 458 6890 and make arrangements to interview with Brian and have your picture taken to attach to your application.
